In an enriching celebration of creativity and global learning, Ms. Zainab Yousuf led her Fashion students to the highly anticipated World Culture Festival, beginning with the thoughtful and visually captivating Peace and Pieces Art Exhibition. The visit offered students a unique opportunity to experience art in motion, culture in exchange, and creativity in conversation.
The highlight of the day was a powerful jazz fusion performance featuring world-renowned pianist Elio Villafranca from the Juilliard School, alongside celebrated musicians Ahsan Bari and Ustad Sab. The trio’s exceptional blend of Eastern and Western musical traditions left students inspired by the harmony of global soundscapes and the possibilities of cross-cultural collaboration.
Students further explored the vibrant sculpture studio, where they engaged with international artist and performance arts professor Ozelum from Abu Dhabi. His insights into contemporary art and expressive movement offered a rare learning experience that broadened their creative perspectives.
The group later spent meaningful time at Café de Art, a hub of artistic exchange, where students engaged in thoughtful discussions on creativity, cultural identity, and the role of young artists in shaping the future. Their enthusiasm and observations were recognized by festival organizers, leading to their feature in a news interview that highlighted the importance of youth participation in cultural events.
The day concluded as a memorable chapter for the students an inspiring blend of learning, culture, and artistic exploration that will continue to influence their creative journeys.
