The event was held on January 21, 2023, in the Greenwich University, Karachi campus from 10 am till 5 pm. The opening ceremony consisted of the institute management and staff welcoming the companies and thanking them for participating in the career fair and making it possible for Greenwich University to hold the event. The career fair aims to give students and employers a chance to meet one another and create a bond of networking amongst each other, establish professional relationships and discuss potential job/internship opportunities. Mr. Naveed Mughal Assistant Director of Administration and Student provost was invited up to the stage to say a few words where he shared his appreciation and gave a shoutout to all the companies that were participating and visiting. There were quite a variety of companies from different sectors such as banking, mutual funds, fashion and textile, real estate, information technology, software houses, chemical industries, digital agencies, news & media industries, digital & finance, food sectors, clothing brands, and insurance and brokerage houses and other sectors. Once Mr. Mughal was done with his speech, the hosts invited the chief guest, The Consul General Republic of Turkey Mr. Cemal Sango Mr. Jemal Sango. He thanked the institute for giving him the opportunity and inviting him to the event. He highlighted the importance of such events and wished the students good luck, giving them hope. He mentioned how nice it is to see that there is a variety of local and international companies at the event which means there are more opportunities. He ended his speech by saying how happy it makes him see the dedication of the students and institute and wishes them a brighter future. The opening ceremony ended with Greenwich’s Vice Chancellor, Seema Mughal, sharing her views and appreciation for the companies and encouraging students to take the most out of this event. The head of media and corporate affairs, Mr. Rohail Intekhab, also shared a few words on his behalf and ended the opening ceremony with a brand activation and appreciation video. And with that, the companies were told to start their recruitment once everyone had had their refreshments.
