Karachi, December 17, 2022: Greenwich University and Korean Consulate jointly organized YOZEUM – Music Festival celebrating Korean pop music, Korea’s rich and diverse culture. Korean pop music fan clubs in Karachi Pakistan-Korea Cultural Collaboration (PkCC), BTA, and Team OT7, along with Korean music lovers and nationals all over Karachi, participated in the event. Advancing cultural exchange, the event depicted Korean culture through dance battles, taekwondo rendition, BTS virtual concert, booths with Korean games, a Korean calligraphy area, songs and much more. Welcoming the Korean Consulate, Vice Chancellor of Greenwich University, Madam Seema Mughal, said that bilateral relations are crucial to a nation’s sustenance; Greenwich actualizes these relations by promoting cultural exchange at our campus. ‘We aim to continue these relations by engaging our students in activities to accelerate their acquaintance with the cultures around them. She said that our students receive a holistic global outlook, helping them compete in an increasingly globalized world. H.E. Kim Hak Sung, Consul General Korean Consulate, appreciated the portrayal of Korean culture at Greenwich University. Lauding the efforts of Korean fan clubs and Greenwich University students, he said that respect for one another’s culture makes the world a more beautiful, connected place to live in. ‘The Korean Consulate will continue collaboration with Greenwich University on initiatives of mutual interest to both nations’, he said. Expressing gratitude towards the Korean Consulate, the Head of the School of Protocol & Diplomacy, Mr. Ali Jillani, highlighted that academia is an essential bridge to cultural sensitization and exchange. School of Protocol and Diplomacy aims at institutionalizing international education as its deep understanding informs, develops leadership, and improves world experience. School of Protocol and Diplomacy actively engages with national and international decision-making bodies through informing the policy decisions, documenting the cultural, bi and multilateral exchanges, and many other initiatives to ensure that the youth of Pakistan progress around the globe and contribute its fair share towards nation building at home, he said. The evening concluded with Karachi’s Korean music fanbase humming to the tunes of a virtual concert of Bulletproof Boy Scouts (BTS).
